Manchester, NH Night Skyline - From the Top of Amoskeag Falls
This familiar view of the skyline of Manchester, NH can be seen from the top of Amoskeag Falls on the Merrimack River. The landmark falls, which gets its name from the Penacook word Namoskeag, which means the great fishing place, is now the home of the Amoskeag Fishways.
Saco River Valley - North Conway, NH
The lush greens of new spring growth return to the Saco River Valley in North Conway, NH. In the distance, you can see Mt.Washington clinging to the last remnants of winter.
Quechee Gorge - Vermont
13,000 years ago, the Quechee Gorge was formed by glaciers during the Ice Age. The Woodstock Railroad Company built the original bridge to span the 165 ft. gorge in 1875. This is the view from the bridge (which has since been converted to a roadway).
Cape Neddick "Nubble" Lighthouse - York Beach, Maine
Not far off the eastern point of Cape Neddick lies a rocky island called the "Nubble". On it was built the Cape Neddick Light, which began operation in July of 1879. The beacon itself is still maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard today.
